2022 Skills Ontario Submission

I submitted this Bulter Robot 3D model for the 2022 Skills Ontario Competition where I scored second place in the race.

This was an 8-hour competition, all all tasks had to be completed by the end of the competition.

Student competitors faced the challenge of creating a 3D model of a butler robot and a base for it to stand on, based on concept art provided. The model was required to be UV unwrapped, textured and displayed.

Concept Art and Design Brief

In the near future, the ButlerBot 3000 is all the rage in High Society. The rich and famous all have one, and everyone else wants one. These Robots wait on their owner’s hand & foot and are a marvel of technology.

How competitors depicted our ButlerBot 3000 was up to the competitor’s creative liberty.

Students were provided with a set of concept art designs. Their objective is to 3D model and texture a model consisting of no more than 6000 polygons in total.

Final Character Design

After 8 hours of 3D modeling, unwrapping UVs, texturing, and posing the model, I completed my submission for the Skills Ontario competition.

Achieving Second Place

It was an absolute pleasure for me to have been given the opportunity to participate in a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity such as competing in the Skills Ontario competition.

I am proud of my accomplishment in this competition and absolutely thrilled to have my accomplishments featured in Niagara College’s newsletter:
